About Gemma
Gemma Ryu is a children’s book writer who creates gentle, reflective stories about nature, feelings, and the small changes that shape everyday life.
She grew up in Korea and has lived in France and the United States. These different places, languages, and landscapes continue to find their way into her stories.
Her work often begins with a small image, a rainy street, a yellow umbrella, a sound, or a question that lingers.
Stories often begin before they become books - in a sketch, a color, or a sentence quietly written down.
